Week 4 Newsletter

This year is off to a great start.  I want to thank you, as parents, for the assistance you have been giving to your students.  I hope that you have been finding time to look over your student’s assignment books frequently to help them stay on top of their budding time management skills.  Remember, I do send home all of their completed work on Fridays.  In addition to their weekly work they bring home, their daily assignment (red) folders should be gone through every day (preferably by your student) to encourage independence.  I will occasionally send home important information in that folder.
Thank you all for your help at home with helping your student study for the spelling test, memorize bible verses, and signing the assignment book and reading logs.  Please do remember that one of my goals is to help your student to become more self-sufficient.  Please continue to help them by gradually handing off the responsibility to them.

Recently a parent had to stop volunteering on Friday mornings during my morning paper turn-in time.  I have a need of one parent who can volunteer weekly on Fridays from 8:15 until at least 8:30.  You could stay longer, if you wish.  If you would like to volunteer for that shift or others, please click this link and type your name.

Also, there are a few more spots available to assist with carpool, since I have to leave everyday at 3:10 to coach a high school sports team.  If you could watch the students from 3:05-3:30, on any open day, I would REALLY appreciate it.  The job is easy...supervise the students to make sure they are quiet and listening for their name in the carpool line.  Here is the document to signup (type your name).  THANK YOU!!

Box Tops are can be brought in at any time this year.  Don’t forget to label the bag with 4K.  How many can we bring in with this year???

Please discourage your child from bringing Pokemon cards to school.  In the past, trading cards or lending cards has produced hurt feelings.  Since some of these cards are worth actual money, it is best if all students plan to trade away from school, with adult supervision.  Thank you for helping support us on this front.
