Week 13

With less than a week of school until Christmas Break, I have been reminding all students to make sure that all of their late and absent work has been turned in.  I will need to finalize all grades by Dec. 15, so all work will need to be turned in by then end of the day on Monday at the latest.

My family and I are going on an extended Christmas vacation out of the country and I will not have reliable internet access until after I return on Jan. 8.  My last day in the classroom will be Dec. 14 and I will return on Jan 9, so any correspondences during this time will be delayed.

As a reminder, our realistic fiction book report, Character Day, is on Tuesday, and here is the Character Day Information Sheet.  The realistic fiction book should be more than 125 pages.  It should not be a book from a series, nor a graphic novel.

Don’t forget to continue studying the prepositions, because the students have an overall test over each of the 5 sets of propositions on December 14.  Here is the list to study from.

NOTE:  This week there will be:

  • No spelling new words

  • No reading log for the next three weeks.

Lastly, I am looking again for small items to re-stock the Student Store.  Any donations of small items like erasers, pens, mechanical pencils, or other kid-centered office supply items would be a great addition to the store.  I do not accept candy or food for the store.

This week's bible verse: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6 (quiz on 12/14)
